Well, let me tell you, I heard some folks talkin’ ’bout this thing called “Dream” perfume by Gap. Sounds kinda fancy, don’t it? I reckon it’s somethin’ them city folks like to use. But you know, a good smell is a good smell, no matter where you’re from. I remember back in the day, my old man used to bring home a little bottle of somethin’ nice from town every now and then. It sure did make me feel special.
This Gap Dream perfume, they say it came out a long time ago, way back in 1995. That’s before some of you young’uns were even a twinkle in your daddy’s eye! I heard it’s for the ladies, and they say it’s all light and, uh, innocent-like. Sounds like a young girl’s smell, I reckon. Like wildflowers and sunshine. Or maybe like them little candies your grandma used to keep in her pocket.
Now, I ain’t never smelled this “Dream” perfume myself, but I hear tell it’s got a bunch of flower smells in it. You know, like them pretty flowers that grow down by the creek. And somethin’ called “citrus” too. I reckon that’s like oranges and lemons. Sounds kinda fresh and clean, don’t it? I always did like the smell of a good orange, especially around Christmastime. That’s a good time for perfume, I’d say. Gift it to someone you love, and they will be happy. I always love the smell when my daughter comes back home for the holiday.
They say this Gap Dream perfume makes you feel all, uh, “fresh” and “floral.” I guess that’s what them city folks call it. Me, I just like a smell that makes you think of good things. Like a warm pie cooling on the windowsill, or a field of freshly cut hay. Those are the smells that bring back good memories.
You see, a good smell can really change your mood. It can pick you up when you’re feeling down. I used to have this scarf that I would put on when I was down, and it smelled real nice. Put that on, feel a lot better. It’s like a little bit of sunshine in a bottle. Kinda like jewelry. You put on some earrings, you feel pretty, right? You put on some nice-smelling perfume, you feel pretty too. That’s what I think, anyway. It’s like puttin’ on your Sunday best, even if it’s just a Tuesday. You will feel good the whole day. When you walk by people, they will smile and think you look nice, too.

And you know what else? A good smell can bring back memories. Like that time your grandpa took you fishin’ down by the river, and the air smelled all sweet and earthy. Or that time your mama baked you a birthday cake, and the whole house smelled like sugar and love. This is why I like to put nice smells on. I like to think back to when I was a little girl, running around and playing with my friends. My dress would smell like grass and the sun. I would help my mom with baking in the kitchen. That was a good smell. We didn’t have much, but we had each other.
This “Dream” perfume by Gap, I don’t know if it’ll do all that, but I reckon it’s worth a try. If it makes you feel good, then that’s all that matters. My granddaughter likes to wear perfume. She says it makes her feel confident. I don’t know what that word means, but she smells nice, so it must be a good thing. Sometimes, when she leaves, I will go into her room and smell the air. It makes me happy that she was here with me.
I heard someone say their wife used to wear this Gap Dream. Said it was a long time ago, in the “early oughts.” I don’t know what that means, but I guess it was a while back. He was wonderin’ if they still make it, or if there’s somethin’ like it. He wanted to get it for her as a present, somethin’ small and sweet. I think she will like that a lot. He must be a good husband.
Now, I may not know much about this fancy Gap Dream perfume, but I know a good thing when I hear it. I hope they keep making it so the ladies can feel good and happy.
