Well, let me tell ya ’bout this Jackie Oppenheimer, from that movie, you know, the one everyone’s been yappin’ about. Folks call it “Oppenheimer.” Heard it was a big deal, all them fancy folks in the pictures.

Now, I ain’t no scholar or nothin’, but from what I gather, this Jackie gal, she’s in the picture too. Played by some actress, Emma Dumont, they say. Emma Dumont, that’s a name, ain’t it? Sounds like somethin’ out of a storybook. Anyways, she plays this Jackie, who’s Robert Oppenheimer’s sister-in-law, whatever that means. Family, I guess. Families, always complicated, ain’t they? Always someone’s somethin’-in-law.
This movie, “Oppenheimer,” it’s ’bout that fella who made that big bomb, the one that went boom. Christopher Nolan, he made the picture. Heard he’s a smart fella, makes them movies that make you think. Not that I do much thinkin’ these days, mind you. Too old for that.
- Jackie Oppenheimer: Sister-in-law to the bomb maker.
- Emma Dumont: The actress who plays her.
- Christopher Nolan: The fella who made the movie.
They say this Emma Dumont, she’s done other things too. Been in other pictures, I reckon. Folks recognize her, they say. “Where have I seen her before?” they ask. Well, I ain’t seen her nowhere, ‘cept in this “Oppenheimer” picture. But then again, I don’t get out much.
This Jackie, she was born a long time ago, back in 1915, in New York City. Big city, that one. Never been there myself. Too much hustle and bustle for an old lady like me. Her daddy, he was a businessman, had money, they say. Money, that’s what makes the world go ’round, ain’t it? Though it never made my world go ’round much.
Jackie, she got hitched to some fella named Puening, and they had two kids. A boy and a girl. Peter and Toni, their names were. Kids grow up fast, don’t they? One minute they’re in diapers, the next they’re off on their own. Makes an old lady’s head spin.

Now, this movie, it’s a big deal, they say. Oscar-winning, even. That’s somethin’, ain’t it? Awards and such. Never won no awards myself, unless you count the blue ribbon for my apple pie at the county fair back in ’62. That was a good pie, that was.
The movie, it’s ’bout Robert Oppenheimer’s life, I hear. But Jackie, she’s in there too. Part of the story, I guess. Everyone’s got a story, don’t they? Even an old lady like me. Not that anyone wants to hear it.
