So, I had this idea to make some Ben 10 themed jewelry. You know, Ben 10, that cartoon from the 2000s? Yeah, that one. Apparently, there’s gonna be a new comic book about him, so I got inspired. I started looking around online to see what kind of Ben 10 stuff people were already selling.

I checked out a few places, and some other custom-made stuff. I saw some cool charms and figured I could probably make something similar.

Found the raw materials

I dug through my old craft supplies and found some beads and charms that I thought would work. I also found some old watches, including those Ben 10 themed ones for kids and figured I could use parts from them.

  • First Try: I started with a necklace. I took apart one of the watches and used the face as the centerpiece. Then I added some green and black beads to match Ben’s colors. It looked okay, but not exactly what I was going for.
  • Second Attempt: Next, I tried a bracelet. I used some charms I found online that looked like the aliens Ben transforms into. I strung them together with some leather cord. This one turned out a bit better, but it still felt like it was missing something.
  • Figuring It Out: I realized I needed to think more about the design. Maybe incorporate some elements from the Omnitrix, that watch thing Ben uses to transform.

Adjusting the plan

I went back to the drawing board. This time, I decided to focus on making a pendant. I sketched out a design that looked like the Omnitrix. I found a small, round piece of metal and painted it to look like the watch face. Then I carefully glued it to a larger, circular base.

I added some more details, like tiny green gems around the edge to represent the energy of the Omnitrix. It was a lot of trial and error, but I finally got it to look the way I wanted.

The Final Result

I’m pretty happy with how the pendant turned out. It’s got that Ben 10 vibe, and it’s something unique that I made myself. I might try making some earrings or a ring next, using a similar design. I guess I could even try making some Kai Tennyson-inspired stuff, since she’s Ben’s wife in the show, and sell it online somewhere. Anyway, it was a fun little project, and it brought back some good memories of watching the show when I was younger. It’s crazy how a cartoon can inspire you to create something new, even years later. This whole thing just reminded me how much I enjoyed the series back then.

The original series, Alien Force, and Ultimate Alien were great, but I haven’t seen much of the newer stuff. Maybe I’ll check it out sometime.

The whole crafting process was a bit messy, but it was worth it. I ended up using a bunch of different tools and materials, and my workspace looked like a disaster zone by the end. But hey, that’s part of the fun, right?

Who knew making jewelry could be such an adventure?

Also, the show’s theme song is really cool! “One part kid, 10 parts hero! It’s Hero Time !!!!!!!!!! ” I hummed it many times. LOL.
