So, the other day, I got curious about James Avery jewelry. I’ve always admired their stuff, especially the Christian-themed pieces. But I wasn’t sure if the company was still around or not, so I decided to do some digging.
I started by searching online to see what I could find about the company’s history. I learned that James Avery, the founder, was a self-taught jeweler who started the business way back in 1954. It all began in his in-laws’ garage in Kerrville, Texas. Can you believe it? A two-car garage!
I also discovered that the company is still family-owned. Apparently, James Avery passed away at the age of 96, but his son, Chris Avery, is now running the show as CEO. It seems like a real family legacy.

So, yeah, from what I can tell, James Avery jewelry is still very much alive and kicking. It’s a family business with a long history, and they’re still making beautiful jewelry, mostly right here in Texas. Pretty cool, huh? I ended up feeling pretty good knowing that a company with such a neat story is still around.
