That Oreo, you know, that black cookie, my grandbaby loves it. Oreo 3, what is it? I heard them young folks talking about it. Seems like every time I turn around, there’s a new kind of Oreo. This old lady can barely keep up!

They got all kinds of Oreo cookies now. Back in my day, we just had the regular ones. Plain and simple. Now, they got so many kinds I don’t even know. They are making new Oreo flavors, like six of them, someone said, coming next year. One is frozen, like ice cream! Can you believe it? Oreo ice cream!
And they got some kinda Game Day Oreo. Must be for when them boys are watching the football game on the TV. I see them yelling and screaming at that box. Maybe the cookies will help them be quiet for a bit. These Game Day ones are the same old cookie, just with new pictures on them, they said. It will be ready when the big game is coming.
- That Oreo, they call it Milk’s Favorite Cookie.
- They been around a long time, over a hundred years, I heard!
- Now they got all these fancy kinds.
They even put other stuff in the Oreo cookie now. Like, they got one with lots of that white cream in the middle. And then they put little pieces of the black cookie in the white cream! That’s a lot of cookie, if you ask me. Too much chocolate, maybe, and lots of cocoa. But my grandbaby, he’d probably eat the whole bag!
They even made Oreo cookies with Pokemon on them, those little cartoon creatures my grandkids are always talking about. They said some, like this “Mew” one, are hard to find. Kids these days, always wanting the rarest things. I don’t know the rarest Pokemon Oreo, maybe is the Pikachu, I heard.
And they got all these different flavors, too. Coca-Cola, Mint Chip, Sour Patch Kids. It don’t even sound like a cookie anymore! I don’t know how they come up with these things. It’s like they just throw anything in there and call it an Oreo. They gonna have Oreo with Irish Creme! It’s like whiskey or something. Those young people, I tell ya.

Some folks are asking if these Oreo cookies are halal. I heard them talking about it down at the store. I don’t know much about that, but they said the ones made in Europe ain’t certified halal. But they also said they are okay for them Muslim folks to eat. Unless it’s the Strawberry Cheesecake one, or the Choc’o Brownie one, or some others. It’s all so confusing!
I remember when a cookie was just a cookie. You had your chocolate chip, your peanut butter, and your regular Oreo. Now there’s so many, it makes my head spin. They even change the cookie style. The Oreo cookie variations become more and more.
I guess it’s good they’re making new things. Keeps things interesting, I suppose. But sometimes, I just want a regular old Oreo. The kind I used to eat when I was a little girl. Those were the days.
But these young folks, they love all these newfangled cookies. So I guess I’ll just have to get used to it. As long as my grandbaby is happy, that’s all that matters. And if he wants a whole bag of those Oreo 3 cookies, well, then that’s what he’ll get. Even if it is too much chocolate for this old lady!
I just hope they don’t stop making the regular ones. That’s the only kind this old gal really wants. But who knows what they’ll come up with next? Maybe they’ll make an Oreo with turnip greens in it. Now wouldn’t that be something!

- Too many Oreo flavors these days.
- Kids love them, though.
- I still like the regular Oreo cookie best.
All this talk about cookies is making me hungry. I think I’ll go have an Oreo myself. The regular kind, of course. With a big glass of milk. That’s the best way to eat an Oreo, if you ask me. Just like they say, “Milk’s Favorite Cookie.” And this old lady’s favorite cookie, too!
