Okay, so a while back I was looking to change up my daily fragrance. I wanted something fresh but not too overpowering, something I could wear every day without getting tired of it. And then I stumbled upon this Polo Black EDT.

I went to a local store, you know, one of those places that has tons of perfumes and aftershaves. The Fragrance Shop, I think it’s called? Anyway, I told the guy there what I was looking for, and he pointed me towards this Polo Black. Said it was a classic, been around for a while but still popular.
- First thing I did was give it a good sniff straight from the bottle. It was definitely fresh, with a little bit of sweetness, kind of fruity, but not like those overly sweet ones. There was something else in there too, something a bit exotic, but I couldn’t quite put my finger on it.
- Next, I sprayed a bit on those little paper strips they have. Walked around the store for a while, letting it settle, sniffing it every now and then. The scent did change a bit, got a bit more woody, but still had that freshness to it.
- Finally, I decided to try it on my skin. Sprayed a bit on my wrist, waited a few minutes. That’s when I really got a feel for it. It mixed well with my natural scent, which is important, you know? Didn’t want something that would clash.
I ended up buying it. Been using it for a few weeks now, and I’m pretty happy with it. Usually, I just put on three or four sprays in the morning, and that seems to be enough. I don’t want to be that guy who walks into a room and everyone starts coughing, right?
My Routine
I usually spray once on my neck, once on my chest, and one on each wrist. I’ve heard some people say you should spray it in the air and walk through it, but that seems like a waste to me. Plus, I don’t want to get it in my hair or on my clothes too much.
So, yeah, that’s my experience with Polo Black EDT. It’s a solid choice if you’re looking for a fresh, everyday fragrance. It’s not going to blow your mind or anything, but it’s definitely a good one to have in your rotation. I heard that Polo Double Black is off the market now, glad I didn’t get that one!
And hey, I learned that the original Polo, the one they call “green,” used to be a big deal back in the day. I guess it’s old enough now that it’s kind of new again, at least to the younger crowd. Might have to check that one out sometime, too. But for now, Polo Black is doing the trick for me.
