Vogue September Issue 2024, What’s the Big Fuss?
Alright, so I heard folks talkin’ ‘bout this “Vogue” thing, September somethin’-somethin’. Sounds fancy, like somethin’ them city folk get all worked up about. But what’s it all about, really? Let me tell ya what I gathered, listenin’ to the chatter.
So, this September issue, they say it’s a big deal. Bigger than all the other Vogues they put out all year. Why? Don’t ask me! Seems like they stuff it full of pictures and stories, more than usual. Like they’re packin’ a suitcase for a long trip, only it’s a magazine.
- Blake Lively on the Cover: That pretty gal from the movies, Blake Lively, she’s on the front. Heard she’s got a bunch of young’uns now, and she’s talkin’ ‘bout her life and all that. Good for her, I say. Raisin’ kids ain’t no easy task.
- Baz Luhrmann Took the Pictures: Now, this fella, Baz Luhrmann, he’s the one who took the pictures of Blake. They say he’s a big-shot director too. Guess he knows how to make things look purdy.
- Fashion, Fashion, Fashion: This magazine, it’s all about clothes, seems like. They talk about what’s “in” and what’s not. This year, they’re askin’ if you wanna look like one of them robot people, all shiny and futuristic, or maybe all pink and frilly like a little girl’s doll, or maybe somethin’ that plays tricks on your eyes. Chanel, they say, made a purse that looks like popcorn. Popcorn! Can you believe it? What will they think of next? Waste of good eatin’ corn if you ask me.
They call it an “event,” this September Vogue. Not just another magazine, but a whole to-do. Like a county fair, but with fancy dresses and pictures instead of prize-winning pigs and pies.

Hitchcock-Inspired Story: There’s also a story in there, with Blake Lively again, and that fella Hugh Jackman. They say it’s like one of them old Hitchcock movies. You know, the ones with the suspense and the twists? I like a good story, so maybe that part’s alright. They say Virginia Smith wrote all about how they made it, all them details and such.
Covers and More Covers: And it ain’t just Vogue. Seems like all the fashion magazines do this big September thing. They’re all revealin’ their covers, showin’ off who they got and what they’re talkin’ about. It’s like a competition, who can make the biggest splash.
