So, I’ve been getting into this whole makeup thing lately, and let me tell you, it’s a wild world out there. I stumbled upon this brand, Rare Beauty, you know, the one by Selena Gomez? Anyway, I decided to give it a shot, and here’s how it all went down.
First off, I did a little digging. Turns out, the CEO is this guy named Scott Friedman. He’s been with Rare Beauty since, like, the beginning, back in early 2019. Seems like he knows his stuff, considering the company is now valued at $2 billion. Not too shabby, right?
Next, I started looking into what products to try. Everyone and their mother raves about the Soft Pinch Liquid Blush. I mean, I had to see what the hype was about. But there are so many other choices like foundation, concealer, and a bunch of lip stuff. Ended up doing a virtual cart checkout practice run before my real order.
The Waiting Game
I placed my order online. They sell through their website and also at Sephora. Shipping took longer than usual, so I looked it up and saw that there was some kind of Black Friday promotion called “Six Days of Gifting.” Good for them, but that was kind of annoying. After a week, I finally get the package!
Trying It Out
- First impression: the packaging is pretty sleek, I gotta admit.
- I started with the blush. Okay, I get it now. A tiny bit goes a long way. It blends like a dream. I also tried one of the Limited Edition Mini Blush Luminize Trio.
- Tried some other products as well, they have this thing called “Find Comfort Body”. Nice but expensive.
The Verdict
Alright, so is Rare Beauty worth the hype? I’d say, yeah, mostly. The blush is definitely a standout. I haven’t tried everything yet, but so far, I’m impressed. It’s not the cheapest makeup out there, but I guess you get what you pay for. They say it’s supposed to make you feel good and not hide your face, and I kinda agree with that.
I’ll probably keep using Rare Beauty. I might even try out some of their other stuff, like the foundation, later on. We’ll see. Maybe I’ll even become a makeup guru myself someday, who knows?
