Okay, so I was scrolling through my phone, just killing time, and I stumbled upon some old photos from the 2015 Met Gala. You know, the one with the theme “China: Through the Looking Glass”? Man, that feels like ages ago! Anyway, it got me thinking about all the crazy outfits from that night, and of course, Beyonce’s dress immediately popped into my head.

So, I decided to do a little digging. First I pulled out my old fashion magazines from 2015 – yes, I actually keep those, don’t judge me! I flipped through them, trying to find any mention of that iconic dress. Not much luck there, surprisingly. It was more about the overall theme and the exhibit itself.
Next, I hit up the internet. I watched some red carpet footage from that night, and it was just as I remembered – a total spectacle. I went through my old computer to find photos about that night, but I had deleted it. Then, I searched for articles about the gala, especially focusing on Beyonce. I found out that the dress was a custom Givenchy. It was all see-through and covered in jewels, and she looked absolutely stunning.
- I read somewhere that the whole event was actually a fundraiser for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute.
- Apparently, they do this every year, and it’s always tied to some big fashion exhibit.
- I also found out that there’s even a documentary about that specific gala called “The First Monday in May”.
I spent a good chunk of the afternoon going down this Met Gala rabbit hole. I even tried sketching out Beyonce’s dress from memory, which was a hilarious disaster, let me tell you. My drawing skills are, well, let’s just say they’re not exactly museum-worthy. But it was fun trying!
The whole experience reminded me how much I love these kinds of events. The fashion, the glamour, the creativity – it’s all so inspiring. And it was a nice little trip down memory lane. Maybe I’ll watch that documentary tonight. Have any of you guys seen it? Let me know what you thought!
