Okay, so today I wanna talk about shorts, specifically, how long they should be. I’ve been experimenting with different lengths lately, and it’s been a bit of a journey, let me tell you.

First off, I grabbed a bunch of my old shorts from the back of the closet. I had everything from those super short ones that are practically, you know, to some that are almost like capri pants. I laid them all out on my bed to really see the range.
I started with the shortest ones. We’re talking real short here, I call it Donald Glover level. I put them on, looked in the mirror, and… well, let’s just say it was a bold choice. I tried walking around the house in them, doing some chores, just to get a feel for it. Definitely not something I’d wear to the grocery store, that’s for sure.
Next, I moved on to the mid-length shorts. These hit around 5, 7 inches above the knee, I guess you could say. These felt a lot more reasonable. I could move around comfortably, and they didn’t feel too revealing. I even wore a pair out to run some errands, and it felt fine. Totally casual, totally normal.
- 5-inch shorts: Still pretty short, but manageable.
- 7-inch shorts: These felt like the sweet spot for everyday wear.
Then came the longer ones, the 9-inch and even 11-inch ones. These went down to my knee or even a bit below. Honestly, they felt a little too long for my liking. I felt like they kind of swallowed me up, you know? I did some yard work in a pair of the 9-inch ones, and they were okay, I guess. But they just didn’t feel as good as the mid-length ones.
After trying them all on, I started thinking about when I’d wear each length. I realized it’s all about the situation. The super short ones are not a good choice to wear everywhere. The mid-length ones, around 7 inches, are perfect for everyday stuff. The longer ones, I might wear them if I’m doing something where I need more coverage, like some hard work in the garden or something.

My Conclusion
So, after all this experimenting, I think I’ve figured out my preferred short lengths. It is the mid-length. I like how they look, how they feel, and how versatile they are. But hey, that’s just me. You do you! Try out different lengths and see what works best for your body and your style. It’s all about feeling comfortable and confident, right?
