Alright, so listen up, y’all. Let’s talk about this here Explorer Platinum thing. I ain’t no expert, but I’ve heard some things and seen some pictures, so I’ll tell ya what I know.

First off, they say it’s the “top-of-the-line.” Fancy words, huh? Means it’s the best one, the fanciest, like the Sunday dress you only wear to church. This thing, the Explorer Platinum, it’s got that shiny look on the outside, and it’s real pretty on the inside too.
Now, they got this engine in it, a big ol’ V6, they call it. Said it’s got 400 horses. Imagine that! 400 horses pullin’ this thing around. Must be powerful, like a good workhorse on the farm, but faster, you know? And it’s got this thing called a “10-speed automatic transmission.” Sounds complicated, but I reckon it just means it shifts gears real smooth, like butter on a hot biscuit.
- They say it’s got a moonroof, a big one, two panels even. So you can look up at the stars, or the sun, if you’re into that. I prefer a good porch swing myself, but to each their own.
- And the seats! Leather, they say, and not just any leather, but “tri-perforated” leather. Don’t ask me what that means, but it sounds fancy, like somethin’ a city slicker would brag about.
- Oh, and there’s this big screen inside, bigger than my hand, maybe even bigger than my face! They use it for all sorts of things, like maps and music. I guess it’s handy if you don’t know where you’re goin’, but I always figured a good map and a compass were all you needed.
They talk about this “SYNC 4A infotainment system.” More fancy words! But it sounds like it helps you control things in the car, like where you’re going and what music you’re listening to. You can even talk to it, just like you’re talkin’ to me now. Ain’t that somethin’?
Now, this Explorer, it can hold a lot of folks, eight they say. That’s a whole lotta people! Good for a big family, or if you just like to haul your friends around. And it’s got this third row of seats in the back, so everyone can fit. Reminds me of the old station wagon we used to have, only this one’s a whole lot fancier.
Some of ’em, they got this “sport-tuned suspension.” That means it handles good on the road, doesn’t wobble around too much. And the brakes, they’re strong, so you can stop fast if you need to. That’s important, you know, especially if a deer jumps out in front of ya. Happened to me once, scared me half to death!

They even talk about “axle ratios.” Now, I ain’t gonna pretend I know what that means, but it sounds important. Something about how the wheels turn and how fast you can go. This Platinum one, it’s got a 3.31, while the sporty one, the ST, has a 3.58. Whatever that means, it sounds like the ST is faster, like a racehorse compared to a plow horse.
This Explorer, it comes in different colors too. Black, they say, like a shiny new pot. And it’s got four-wheel drive, so it can go through mud and snow pretty good. That’s handy if you live out in the country like me… well, like some folks I know.
So, that’s the gist of it. The Explorer Platinum, it’s a fancy car, powerful too. Got lots of bells and whistles, more than I can even understand. But it sounds like a good car, a reliable one. If you got the money and you want something nice, it might just be the ticket. But me? I’m happy with my old truck. It gets me where I need to go, and that’s all that matters.
But hey, if you want to drive around in style, that Explorer Platinum might just be your thing. Just remember, a car’s a car, whether it’s fancy or not. It’s what you do with it that counts.
