- Ones without zippers, well, they’re easier to get into, that’s for sure. But things might fall out, so you gotta be careful.
I saw this one gal at the store the other day, she had this cute little tote bag. It was beige, just like we’re talkin’ about, and it had a zipper on top. She called it aesthetic, whatever that means. Sounded fancy. Looked like it could hold a good amount of stuff, too. Not too big, not too small, just right, like Goldilocks and her porridge, you know? They got all sorts of these bags online too, I hear. Clothes and bags, all in one place. Handbags, they call ‘em, shoulder bags too. Some are plain, some got all sorts of doodads on ‘em.
Then there’s them crossbody purses. I seen a lady wearin’ one at the bingo night. It was quilted, kinda puffy, and it hung right across her chest. Said it was real comfortable, and she could keep an eye on it all the time. Made of somethin’ called “PU leather,” felt kinda soft, but not like real leather, you know? She said it was from some brand, somethin’ with a “B” and a “smart” in the name. Had all sorts of pockets inside, even a zippered one for her money.
Now, some of these bags, they call ‘em totes, they’re just big ol’ open things. You throw everything in, and you fish it out when you need it. Others, the shoulder bags, they got pockets inside, zippered ones and some that ain’t. Helps keep things organized, I guess. My granddaughter, she’s got a million of these things. Says a woman needs different purses for different things. Says she needs an everyday purse, a tote bag, and somethin’ in between. Lordy, I don’t know why she needs so many, but she says that’s just the way it is. Says some women have nine purses! Nine! What in the world do they need nine purses for? I got one good one, and it does me just fine.
Oh, and I almost forgot, there are these teeny-tiny ones, smaller than your hand! They call ‘em micro bags. Don’t hold much, maybe just a few coins and a key. My granddaughter has one, says it’s cute, but I don’t see the point. Can’t even fit a lipstick in it! But hey, to each their own, I always say.

And you gotta decide if you want zippers or no zippers, pockets or no pockets, and all that jazz.
