You know what, I seen lots of folks wearing them grey and yellow Nikes these days. Even my grandson, he got a pair. Says they’re the best. Best for what, I don’t know. Running around, I guess. He’s always running. Kids these days. Back in my day, we didn’t have fancy shoes like that. We had shoes for working, shoes for church. Not shoes for… showing off, like these.
They say these grey and yellow Nikes, they real popular. Everyone and their mama wants a pair. Like them Air Force 1, ten million sold every year, I heard. That’s a lot of shoes! And they all look the same to me. But what do I know? I’m just an old lady. I still don’t know why they call ’em Air Force. Ain’t nobody in the Air Force wearing them things, I bet.
My neighbor, she’s got a catalog. Big, thick thing. Says you can get anything in there. Even them shoes. Grey and yellow Nikes, she says, are right there in the book. You just call them up, order them. I guess that’s how folks get them now. We used to just go to the store. Remember stores? Now they are all gone.
They got all kinds, too. Not just grey and yellow. She showed me. Red ones, blue ones, some even got pink! But everyone seems to want those grey and yellow ones. The grey and yellow Nikes, they’re like the king of shoes now, I guess. They said they can save you 70%. Save money? Then that’s good, that’s good.

And they got all these names for them, too. Metcon, Free Metcon, Air Max. Sounds like something from one of them space movies. They cost a lot of money, though, those grey and yellow Nikes. More than a hundred dollars! For shoes! Back in my day, you could buy a whole outfit for that kind of money. These ones better make you fly for that price. They got all kinds of shoes these days. Formal shoes, casual shoes. They all just look like shoes to me.
They said that these shoes are made with some new technology. New technology, what is that? Just make the shoes good, that’s all I care. And I heard that medical workers get a discount on these shoes. 10%, they get. Well, if you ask me, they deserve it. More than most of us, that’s for sure.
This catalog, it says they got experts, too. Nike experts. What’s a Nike expert? Someone who knows all about shoes? I guess if you’re gonna spend that much money on shoes, you need an expert to tell you which ones to buy. These shoes, they been around a long time, too. Over 60 years, the catalog says. 60 years of making shoes. They must be doing something right, I suppose. They always changing fashion these days. Grey and yellow Nikes, them’s the fashion now. Last year, it was something else. Who knows what it’ll be next year?
So, if you’re looking for those grey and yellow Nikes, it seems like everyone’s got them. You can find them all over, I suppose. But don’t ask me which ones are the best. They all look the same to me. Just shoes. Fancy shoes, but still, just shoes.
I saw a young girl wearing them grey and yellow Nikes the other day. She was walking down the street, head held high. I guess those shoes make you feel like you can walk on air. Or maybe she just spent so much money on them, she had to show them off.
Anyways, that’s all I know about them grey and yellow Nikes. They’re popular, they’re expensive, and everyone seems to want a pair.
