So, I’ve been messing around with my wardrobe lately, trying to find new combos that actually work. Today’s experiment was all about this winter color person tank top with blue jeans thing. I mean, tank tops and jeans are like, a classic, right? But getting the colors right can make or break the whole look.

First off, I rummaged through my closet and pulled out a bunch of tank tops. I’ve got this white one that’s pretty basic, a black one that’s supposed to be all sleek and stuff, and a couple of colorful ones that I hardly ever wear. Then there are the jeans. I tried on my dark wash skinny jeans first, you know, the ones with the silver buttons that are supposed to be good for winter? They looked kinda cool, I guess, but not quite what I was going for.
- White Tank Top: Paired it with my light-wash blue jeans. It’s a clean look, kinda fresh. But I felt it needed something more.
- Black Tank Top: This one was a bit tricky. I went with my darker jeans for this, and it felt a little too… I don’t know, serious? Not really my vibe for a casual day out.
Then I remembered I had this beige shearling coat, you know, the fluffy one that is super warm. This casual pairing can only be described as strikingly chic. I threw that over the white tank top and light-wash jeans, and it was like, bam! It was a good combo. Added my tan suede ankle boots, and honestly, I felt pretty good about it. I was also thinking, maybe a white beret could work with this look?
I also tried some other tank top colors. I’ve got this burgundy one that I thought might look good with the blue jeans. And it kinda did! It’s like, blue is such a forgiving color, most colors do not clash with it. Red, yellow, orange, blue, black, white, maroon, burgundy, tan, pink, and beige are some of the colors that can be matched to blue.
I spent a good chunk of the afternoon just mixing and matching. It’s kinda fun, actually. It felt like I was rediscovering my clothes. And the best part? I didn’t even have to buy anything new. I was also thinking, maybe I could layer an oversized shirt over the tank top, roll up the sleeves, or tie the shirt at the waist to give it a bit of an edge.
Final Thoughts
I think I’m onto something here with these tank top and blue jeans outfits. It’s all about finding those color combos that just click. And also, not being afraid to throw in a coat or some accessories to really make the look your own. It was a pretty successful experiment, if I do say so myself. There are so many styles that can be worn with blue jeans, like a plain tee, crop top, blazer, and polo tee. Different looks can also be sported, like beachy vibes, spring flowers, or even an all-denim look. I’m definitely gonna be playing around with this more.
