So I’ve been messing around with some art stuff lately, and I gotta say, it’s been a trip. I decided to do this thing called “Andy Warhol Michael Jackson.” Sounds fancy, right? Well, it’s basically about trying to make a picture of Michael Jackson in that classic Andy Warhol style. You know, all colorful and pop-arty.

First off, I had to pick a good picture of MJ. There are, like, a million out there, but I wanted one that felt right. I looked up some of Andy Warhol’s work about Michael Jackson. I found a good one from 1984, then I spent a good chunk of time just staring at it, trying to get a feel for how Warhol did his thing. He used lithographs, which I learned is some kind of printing thing where they use stones or metal plates. Fancy, huh?

I started by sketching out the basic shape of MJ’s face.

  • Tried to get that iconic look he had, you know?
  • It was all about the eyes and that famous smile.
  • Made a few rough drafts, messed up a bunch, but eventually got something that looked kinda like him.

Then came the fun part – colors! Warhol was all about those bright, bold colors. I grabbed my paints and went wild. I used acrylics because they dry fast, and I’m impatient like that.

  • Slapped on some bright blue for the background.
  • Made his face a mix of pink and yellow.
  • His hair, I did it in this electric green.

It was a mess at first, not gonna lie. Paint everywhere, my hands looked like a rainbow threw up on them. But I kept at it, layering the colors, trying to get that pop art vibe.

The Final Touches

After the paint dried, I added some black outlines to make everything pop. That’s a Warhol trick, I think. Makes it look kinda like a comic book or something.

  • Used a thin brush for the details.
  • My hand was shaking a bit, not gonna lie.
  • But I think it turned out pretty cool.

I stepped back, looked at my masterpiece, and you know what? It wasn’t half bad. I mean, it’s no Warhol, but it’s got that vibe. Colorful, kinda crazy, and definitely MJ. I even showed it to a few friends, and they dug it. One of them said it reminded them of Warhol’s Marilyn Monroe stuff, which I guess is a good thing.

So yeah, that’s my little art adventure. It was fun, messy, and I learned a bit about Warhol and his style. Might try another one of these sometime. Maybe Elvis next? Who knows!
