Well, let me tell ya ’bout this boom perfume thing. I ain’t no fancy expert, mind you, just an old woman who’s smelled a thing or two in her time.

Boom Perfume: The Scent Thats Taking Over

Some folks say perfume makes you smell nice, like a flower garden or somethin’. They say it makes other people like you more, like bees to honey. But I ain’t so sure ’bout that. I ain’t seen no real proof, just a bunch of talk. Seems to me, if someone likes ya, they like ya, stink or no stink. And if they don’t, well, a little perfume ain’t gonna change their mind.

Now, I heard tell of this singer gal, Taylor somethin’-or-other. Folks say she’s famous and likes this here perfume called Flowerbomb. Sounds like somethin’ that’d knock you over, all flowery and strong. I reckon it smells alright, but I ain’t one for fancy names or fancy smells. Give me a good bar of soap and clean water any day.

  • Smell ain’t forever
  • But this here perfume, it ain’t like a good memory, it don’t last forever. You leave it out in the sun, or the air gets to it, and poof! It ain’t the same. Like a flower that’s wilted, it loses its oomph. They call it somethin’ fancy, ox-eye- somethin’, but it just means it goes bad.

  • Fresh flowers, that’s the ticket
  • Now, if you want a real nice smell, nothin’ beats fresh flowers. Roses, lilies, whatever you got growin’ in your garden. That’s a smell that’s real and true, not somethin’ cooked up in a bottle. It’s like a little secret between you and nature. Intimate, like they say, a whisper, not a shout.

  • Perfume makers and their stories
  • I heard about this gal and her friend, Caleb somethin’, they make perfumes. They don’t just mix up smells, they try to tell a story with ‘em. They think about the smell, then they make pictures and words to go with it. Like makin’ a whole world out of a little bottle. Sounds like a lot of work for somethin’ that just ends up makin’ you smell different.

But I guess that’s the way of things these days. People always lookin’ for somethin’ new, somethin’ different. They want to smell like a flower garden, or a forest, or whatever else they can dream up. And there’s plenty of folks willin’ to sell ‘em that dream, a little bottle at a time.

Me, I reckon I’ll stick to what I know. A good bath, clean clothes, and maybe a little bit of lavender if I’m feelin’ fancy. That’s enough smell for this old woman. I don’t need no boom perfume to tell me who I am or make folks like me. I’m just me, and that’s good enough.

Now, don’t get me wrong, smellin’ nice ain’t a bad thing. But it ain’t everything neither. It’s what’s inside that counts, not what you spray on yourself. And that’s the truth, whether you smell like a rose or a barnyard.

So, if you want to wear perfume, go ahead. It ain’t gonna hurt nobody. Just don’t think it’s gonna change your life, or make you a different person. You are who you are, smell or no smell. And that’s just fine by me. This whole perfume business, it’s just a lot of fuss and bother, if you ask me. But then again, nobody ever asked me nothin’ ’bout perfume before, did they?

Fresh floral notes are nice, I guess, if you like that sort of thing. But like I said, give me the real thing any day. A walk in the garden, a bouquet on the table, that’s the real perfume, the one that makes you feel good inside and out. And that’s the kind of smell that lasts longer than anythin’ you can buy in a bottle. It stays in your heart, not just on your skin.
