Okay, so I’ve been messing around with my makeup routine lately, and I got stuck on this whole thing about whether primer goes on before or after moisturizer. It sounds kinda dumb, but trust me, it makes a difference!

First, I washed my face like I always do. Just a normal cleanser, nothing fancy. Then came the big question: moisturizer or primer first? I decided to go with moisturizer first. It just made sense to me to get my skin all hydrated and happy before putting anything else on it.
I slapped on my usual moisturizer, you know, the one that smells like coconuts and makes me feel like I’m on a tropical vacation. I let that sink in for a few minutes while I checked on my phone – gotta stay updated, right?
After that, I grabbed my primer. This one’s supposed to blur out my pores and make my makeup last longer. I dabbed a little bit on my forehead, nose, cheeks, and chin – basically all the places where my makeup tends to disappear by lunchtime. I patted it in gently, no rubbing, cause that can make things worse.
- Step 1: Cleanse face.
- Step 2: Apply moisturizer.
- Step 3: Wait a few minutes.
- Step 4: Apply primer to the T-zone and other areas.
- Step 5: Pat primer into skin.
Then I just continued with my regular makeup routine: foundation, concealer, a little blush, and some mascara. Honestly, I think putting the moisturizer on before the primer really helped. My skin felt smoother, and my makeup went on like a dream. It stayed put pretty much all day, too, which is a major win in my book.
So, yeah, that’s my little experiment with moisturizer and primer. Turns out, putting moisturizer on first works best for me. It’s all about what works for your skin, though. You gotta experiment and see what happens!
