Then there’s this other fella, Godwin, he started callin’ it “internet meme” when them computers started showin’ up. Guess folks been sharin’ stuff on them wires for a while now.
So, what makes a meme “funny how”?
Now, that’s the tricky part. Seems like some memes, they’re funny ’cause they’re silly. Like a cat doin’ somethin’ goofy, or a baby makin’ a funny face. You know, the kinda stuff that makes you chuckle even if you’re havin’ a bad day.

Why do folks like these memes so much?
Beats me. I guess it’s like them old gossip circles, only now it’s pictures and words spreadin’ faster than a wildfire. People like to feel like they’re in on somethin’, like they understand the joke. And these memes, they change all the time, so there’s always somethin’ new to giggle at.
But are all memes funny?
Nope, not by a long shot. Some are just plain mean. Some are confusing, and some ain’t even worth lookin’ at twice. And I heard some can even spread lies. Can you believe that? People usin’ pictures and words to trick folks. It’s a crazy world, I tell ya.
From plankin’ to whatever these young’uns are doin’ now:
I’ve seen a lot in my days. Remember when folks were layin’ flat on stuff, callin’ it “plankin’”? That was a meme too, I guess.
