Okay, folks, gather ’round, because today we’re diving into some old-school Hollywood glamour. I’ve been messing around with makeup looks, and I got this crazy idea to try and recreate Bette Davis’s iconic look. You know, that dramatic, vintage vibe that just screams “classic movie star.”

Get the Look: Bette Davis Glamour Shot Makeup Secrets

Starting with a Blank Canvas

First, I started by cleaning my face. I just used my regular cleanser and made sure my skin was nice and fresh. I used a little of my favorite face cream that makes my skin feel all smooth, ready for the next stage.

The White Magic

Now, the real fun began. I heard that Bette Davis used white makeup to make her features pop, so I was like, “Why not?” I took some white cream foundation – I think it’s usually used for stage makeup or something and used my fingers to apply it gently to my face – and dabbed it all over my face. I made sure to blend it well, especially around my hairline and jaw, so I didn’t look like I’d just fallen face-first into a bag of flour.

Creating the Drama

  • I grabbed a black eyeliner pencil. It was one of those super soft ones. And carefully drew a line.
  • I extended the line out a bit, giving it that classic cat-eye flick.
  • Then I smudged it just a little bit with a cotton swab to soften the line.

The Brows and Lips

For the brows, I used a dark brown pencil and filled them in, making them a bit more arched and dramatic than usual. Then, I grabbed a red lipstick. It was a bright, bold red and used a lip brush to apply it to my lips.

The Final Touch

I dusted a bit of translucent powder all over my face to set everything in place. And you know what? It wasn’t half bad! I mean, I’m no Bette Davis, but I felt like I’d stepped out of a black-and-white movie, which it was a lot of fun, and I’d definitely recommend giving it a try if you’re into vintage looks. It’s amazing how a little makeup can transport you to a different era. Oh, and I also heard that Max Factor was big back then, so maybe I’ll try some of their stuff next time, just for kicks. Anyway, that’s my little makeup adventure for today. Hope you enjoyed it!
