Well, let me tell ya ’bout this here Jones New York watch. I ain’t no fancy expert or nothin’, but I know what I like, and this watch, well, it’s somethin’ else.
First off, it looks real nice. Shiny and all. They call it “elegant,” I think. It’s got that metal stuff, you know, makes it look all sparkly. And some of ’em got that leather strap, feels nice on your wrist, not scratchy or nothin’. My old man used to say, “A good watch is like a good pair of boots, gotta be comfortable and gotta last.” This here watch, it seems like it might just do that.

Now, I seen some folks sayin’ you gotta wear a watch on your “non-dominant” hand. What a mouthful! Means if you write with your right hand, you wear the watch on your left. Sounds like a bunch of hooey to me, but whatever. You wear it wherever you darn well please, I say. I wear mine on my left ’cause that’s just what feels right.
And get this, they say watches ain’t outta style. Folks are still wearin’ ’em, even with them fancy phones they got now. Guess it’s more than just tellin’ time, it’s about lookin’ good, showin’ off a bit, maybe. Like wearin’ your Sunday best, even if it’s just Tuesday. This Jones New York one, it definitely makes you look a bit… fancier. Like you got someplace important to be, even if you’re just goin’ to the grocery store.
I heard tell they make these watches for men too. Big ol’ things, probably. With bracelets and all sorts of stuff. They say it’s “timeless elegance.” Sounds like somethin’ you’d wear to a weddin’ or a funeral, somethin’ fancy like that. But I reckon you could wear it everyday too, if you wanted. Why not? Life’s too short to save the good stuff for special occasions.
And the price? Well, I ain’t made of money, let me tell ya. But I seen some of these Jones New York watches on sale, pretty cheap, if you ask me. Seventy percent off! That’s what they said. Sounds like a good deal to me. My old man always said, “A penny saved is a penny earned.” And he was a smart fella, even if he didn’t have much book learnin’.
They got all kinds of ’em, too. Different colors, different styles. Some with all that fancy stuff on the face, some plain and simple. Me, I like the simple ones. Easy to read, easy to understand. No need for all that fuss and bother. Just tell me the time, and look good doin’ it, that’s all I ask.

This old lady ain’t got time for somethin’ that breaks after a few months.
