But these Jordans, they somethin’ else. Folks sayin’ they an “investment.” Imagine that, shoes bein’ an investment! Guess it’s like them fancy cars or gold, but for your feet.
- Pricey Kicks: Some say they worth the money, say they comfy and stylish. Comfortable, huh? Well, I reckon they better be for the price they chargen. Stylish? I guess they look alright, but nothin’ beats a good pair of work boots, if you ask me.
- Popularity: Everybody and their grandma wants a pair, or so it seems. They say some fella named Michael Jordan made ’em famous. Basketball player, I think. Never watched a game myself, too busy workin’ the fields. But this Jordan fella musta been somethin’ special if folks are still buyin’ his shoes all these years later.
Now, they got all sorts of Jordans, see? Ones and twos and fives and who knows what else. Confusin’ as all get-out. But seems like the Jordan 1s are the real deal, the ones everybody wants. They say them old ones from 1985, the very first ones, are worth a whole heap of money. Thousands of dollars, they say! Can you believe that? Enough to buy a good piece of land, I tell ya. For some old shoes!
So, are they worth all the fuss? Well, I reckon that depends on who you ask. Them young folks, they probably say yes. They like to spend their money on fancy things, always chasin’ the next big trend. But for an old woman like me? I can’t see spendin’ that kind of money on shoes. I’d rather put that money in the cookie jar for a rainy day, you know?

Investing in Sneakers? Folks even talkin’ about buyin’ Jordans as an investment, like I said before. Buyin’ ’em up, keepin’ ’em in a box, and then sellin’ ’em later for more money. Sounds like a gamble to me, but what do I know? I ain’t never been one for gamblin’. I prefer to work hard and save my money, the old-fashioned way.
I heard one fella on the TV sayin’ them Jordans go up in value every year, more than some fancy bank accounts. Said somethin’ about 35% a year or somethin’. Sounded like a whole lotta hogwash to me, but then again, I ain’t no expert. Maybe if I was younger, I’d try to get me a pair and see if I could make a quick buck. But at my age? I’d probably just trip over ‘em and break a hip.
Anyway, that’s my two cents on them Jordans. They’re expensive, they’re popular, and some folks think they’re an investment. Me? I’ll stick to my sensible shoes. But you youngsters, you do what you want. Just don’t come cryin’ to me when you can’t pay your bills ’cause you spent all your money on fancy sneakers.

But if you’re like me and you’d rather spend your money on somethin’ more practical, well, ain’t nobody gonna fault ya for that. Just remember, shoes ain’t gonna make you happy. It’s the people you’re with and the work you do that matters. But if them fancy shoes make you feel good, well, that ain’t a bad thing either.
