Okay, so I recently got into this whole Kendra Scott gemstone thing, and let me tell you, it’s been a bit of a ride. I saw all these pretty, shiny things online and thought, “Why not add some sparkle to my life?” So, I started looking into what they offer.

First off, I went through their jewelry collection. I saw that their fashion jewelry is mostly 14K gold or rhodium plated over brass. It looks really nice, but I quickly realized that this stuff needs some care. The first thing I did was read through the care instructions. They said to take off the jewelry when washing hands, swimming, exercising, cleaning, or using body products. I figured, that makes sense if I want to keep the plating nice and avoid tarnish.
Digging Deeper
Then, I started looking at their different collections. I noticed they have this “demi-fine” collection with genuine stones like Turquoise and Malachite. I got a pair of Malachite earrings. They looked great, and I wore them all the time, but I did notice they were getting a little dull.
- Started wearing the earrings – I loved them and wore them everywhere.
- Noticed dullness – They weren’t as shiny as before.
- Remembered the care instructions – Oh yeah, I should probably take them off sometimes.
Figuring Out the Cleaning
So, I thought, “How do I keep these looking good?” I remembered something about proper care and maintaining the sparkle. I did some more digging and found out that regular cleaning is key. Before I even started, I made sure I knew what kind of jewelry I was dealing with – the fashion stuff or the demi-fine with real stones. It turns out the cleaning process is pretty similar for both, but it’s always good to double-check.
I got a soft cloth and some mild soap. I gently wiped down the earrings, and I made sure to take my time. Then I rinsed them with a little water and patted them dry. I laid them out on a clean cloth to air dry completely. I did this a few times, and the shine started coming back. It was a bit of a process, but totally worth it to see them looking like new again.
Honestly, it was a learning experience. I went from just wanting some pretty jewelry to actually understanding how to take care of it. Now, I make sure to take off my Kendra Scott pieces when I should, and I give them a little cleaning every now and then. It’s become a routine, and my jewelry still looks great. Plus, I learned that they give back to women’s and children’s causes, which is pretty cool. It’s nice to know that my little bit of sparkle is also doing some good in the world.
