I had this wild idea the other day. It just popped into my head, like most of my projects do. I’ve always been a fan of those old department stores, and I got thinking about Lazarus, that big name from back in the day. So, I started digging, you know, just poking around on the internet to see what I could find.

Turns out, this German guy, Simon Lazarus, started a little men’s clothing store in Columbus, Ohio, way back in 1851. Can you believe it? Then, fast forward to 1909, they moved the whole operation to this huge, six-story building. That place was probably massive! I bet it was something to see.
Now, here’s where it gets interesting for a tech nerd like me. I stumbled upon this thing called “Lazarus” – but it’s not a store, it’s some kind of software development tool. It’s an IDE, which is like a workshop for coding. This one is special because it works on different operating systems and lets you build apps really fast. It’s even got a visual designer, so you can drag and drop stuff to create your program’s interface. Pretty neat, huh?
Anyway, I got sidetracked. I was reading about the actual Lazarus department store. Apparently, it eventually got mixed up with Macy’s around 2003. They were like brother and sister stores for a while. And you know what? I found this random bit of trivia: there was this lady who used to roam the aisles of the Lazarus store in Columbus when she was a little girl. Must have been a cool place to wander around in your school uniform.
So, I started thinking about how cool it would be to try and bring that old department store experience into the digital age. Maybe make a virtual store or something. I’m not sure how yet, but it’s an idea I’m playing with. I even thought about using that Lazarus IDE to build it, which would be kind of ironic, right? Like, using a tool named “Lazarus” to resurrect a digital version of the old Lazarus store.
I tried installing the Lazarus IDE, hoping to play around with it, but I hit a snag. It seemed like it’s designed for plugin development such as VST 2, VST 3, and AAX for Windows, and macOS, even the Audio Units, it’s so complicated and far beyond my current level. Seems it’s not easy to publish a normal app, especially to Microsoft Store, maybe because I am not using their toolchains. Also, I found the value in Gematria is 2577, which seems just a random number to me.

My skills are way too basic for this kind of stuff. But hey, I’m not giving up! I’ll keep poking around, learning as I go. Who knows, maybe one day I’ll actually manage to create something.
- Tried installing Lazarus IDE.
- Found it too complex for my current skill level.
- Decided to keep learning and experimenting.
It’s a long shot, I know, but it’s fun to dream. And hey, that’s how all the best projects start, right? Just a crazy idea and a whole lot of determination.
