Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with this idea for a while now – trying to personalize my Louis Vuitton stuff. You know, make it really mine. Not just with the usual initials or stripes, but something more, like engraving.
First off, I hit up the official Louis Vuitton website and tried calling their customer service. I learned they have this “My Services” thing for hot stamping initials and stripes on small leather goods and luggage tags. But that wasn’t exactly what I was looking for. I wanted more detailed work, like engraving.
Then, I dug a little deeper and found out they do offer engraving, but only for perfume bottles. You can get up to three English characters. Great for a perfume bottle, but I was thinking about my bags and wallets.
So, I decided to take matters into my own hands. I started researching engraving machines. It was a whole new world for me, let me tell you! I looked at different types, their capabilities, what kind of materials they could work with. It was a bit overwhelming at first. I wanted something that could handle leather without messing it up, and also something that wasn’t too difficult to use.
After a lot of reading and watching videos, I finally settled on a machine that seemed like it would do the job. It wasn’t cheap, but I figured it was an investment. Plus, I could use it for other projects too, not just my Louis Vuitton gear.

Finally, I felt ready to try it on one of my actual Louis Vuitton pieces. I started with a small wallet, something I wouldn’t be too heartbroken about if I messed up. I carefully planned out the design, uploaded it to the machine, and held my breath as it started engraving.

- Design: I created a simple design on my computer, just a small pattern to start with.
- Setup: I secured the wallet in the machine, making sure it was flat and wouldn’t move during the process.

- Finishing: Once it was done, I carefully removed the wallet and inspected the engraving. It wasn’t perfect, but it was pretty darn good for my first try!
