Okay, so the other day I decided to learn a bit of French. You know, just for fun. I figured, why not try saying “I speak a little bit of French” in French? Sounds cool, right?
So, I started by looking up the phrase online. Turns out, the most common way to say it is “Je parle un peu français.” I practiced saying it a few times. “Je… parle… un… peu… français.” It felt a little weird at first, but I kept at it.
- First, I focused on getting the pronunciation right.
- Then, I tried using it in a sentence, like, “Bonjour, je parle un peu français.” (Hello, I speak a little French.)
I read somewhere that there are other ways to say it too, like “Je ne parle qu’un petit peu de français,” which is apparently more formal. But I figured I’d stick with the simple one for now. I don’t wanna get too ahead of myself, you know?
I even found this app, Memrise, that has native speaker audio and video clips. Pretty neat! I listened to the audio a few times to get the hang of the accent. It’s not perfect, but hey, I’m trying.
After a while, I felt a little more confident. I mean, I can’t hold a full conversation or anything, but I can at least say I speak a little French… in French! It’s a small step, but it’s something.
So yeah, that’s my little French adventure so far. I might keep learning more, who knows? Maybe one day I’ll be able to say more than just “Je parle un peu français.” But for now, I’m pretty happy with my progress.
