Okay, here’s my story about Pantone’s colors for fall 2024:

So, I’ve been digging into this whole 2024 fall color trend thing, and let me tell you, it’s been a bit of a ride. I started by checking out what the “color experts” at the Pantone Color Institute had to say.
First off, they picked this Pantone 13-1023 Peach Fuzz as their big Color of the Year. I was browsing the web, and saw this name. It’s kind of like a soft, orangey-pink. They say it’s supposed to be all warm and fuzzy. I spent a good chunk of time just looking at different shades of orange and pink, trying to figure out what makes this one so special.
Then, I dove into the whole fall palette. One color that really stood out to me was this deep red they’re calling Bordeaux. You know, like the wine? Some people call it maroon, burgundy, whatever. I started thinking, “What is this color, actually?” So I pulled up a bunch of pictures of bordeaux wine, burgundy dresses, and even some maroon flowers. It’s a strong color. I ended up spending a whole afternoon just comparing different versions of this bordeaux/burgundy/maroon color. And I tried to find clothes in this color in my wardrobe, and I succeeded!
I also noticed they’re talking about some other bold colors. They mentioned something about “vibrant pinks” and “playful aquas.” To get a feel for these, I grabbed my old watercolor set and started mixing colors, you know, just playing around. I made a bunch of different pinks, some really bright and in-your-face, others more subtle. Then I messed around with blues and greens to get some different aqua shades. It was kind of fun, but also made me realize how many colors there are out there. I painted it on a piece of paper, and tried to draw some patterns in this color.
- Bold Red (Bordeaux): Spent an afternoon comparing shades, looking at wine, dresses, and flowers.
- Peach Fuzz: Tried to understand why this particular orange-pink is the “Color of the Year.”
- Vibrant Pinks & Playful Aquas: Experimented with watercolors to get a feel for these bold shades.
After all this, I felt like I had a decent grasp of what these color trends are all about. At least for now. Who knows what they’ll come up with next? I realized that the colors are so beautiful, and I like them very much. And I may try these colors more in my daily life.

It was a fun, although a little time-consuming, process. But hey, that’s how it goes when you’re trying to keep up with this stuff, right?
