Yesterday, I dusted off my old Polaroid camera. It’s one of those classic 90s models, you know? I found a box of film tucked away in a drawer, surprisingly still good, and decided, “Why not?”

First things first, I had to get the hang of it again. Loading the film was a bit of a puzzle, but I figured it out. These cameras, they’re pretty straightforward once you get the film in right. No fancy settings or anything, just point and shoot.
Experimenting with Light
I remembered something about these cameras loving light, so I started experimenting.
I took a few shots indoors, but they turned out a bit dark. Natural light is definitely the way to go with these.
I headed outside, and wow, what a difference! The colors just popped in the sunlight.
Capturing Moments
I wandered around my neighborhood, snapping photos of anything that caught my eye. A vintage car parked down the street, some flowers in a window box, my dog being his usual goofy self. It’s amazing how these instant photos bring a different vibe to everyday things.

The Magic of Waiting
The best part? Waiting for the photo to develop.
That anticipation as the image slowly appears, it’s like a little magic trick every time.
And holding the actual photo in your hand, there’s something special about it.
Sharing the Nostalgia
I ended up with a bunch of cool, retro-looking photos. I stuck some on my fridge, gave a couple to my friends. They loved them! It’s funny how these old-school photos spark conversations and bring back memories.
So, that was my little adventure with a 90s Polaroid camera. It was fun, a bit nostalgic, and a nice change from all the digital photos we take these days. If you ever come across one of these cameras, I say give it a try. You might be surprised at how much you enjoy it!
