Alright, let’s gab about this “satc season 6,” whatever that means. Sounds like some fancy city thing. My TV only gets three channels, and most of the time it’s just snow, but my neighbor’s granddaughter, she’s got all them fancy shows on her phone.

So, from what I hear, this “Sex and the City” thing, that’s what they call it, right? It’s about these women in the big city, always chasin’ after men and whatnot. Season six, huh? That’s a long time to be runnin’ around like that. Makes me tired just thinkin’ about it. Back in my day, you found a good man, you stuck with him. None of this flippin’ and floppin’ like a fish outta water.
Now, someone told me somethin’ about one of them actresses, the one they call Kim somethin’-or-other. She said somethin’ about the show, I reckon. Don’t remember what it was, but it was important, they said. Maybe she was complainin’ about her shoes hurtin’ or somethin’. These city gals, always fussin’ about their clothes and shoes. Give me a good pair of work boots any day.
- City life sounds exhausting.
- Too much chasin’ men, not enough workin’ in the garden.
- Shoes should be comfy, not fancy.
And then there’s this other one, Sarah Jessica Parker. Heard she was pregnant durin’ the show. Good for her, I guess. But they say it messed up one of the seasons, made it shorter. Only eight episodes, they said. Imagine that! Back in my day, you worked whether you were pregnant or not. Milked the cows, tended the chickens, no time for takin’ it easy. But I suppose city life is different. They got people to do everything for them, I bet.
Folks say this show, it’s about bein’ free, doin’ what you want, especially with the romance stuff. But it ain’t all roses and sunshine. Sounds like it can be tough on the mind, this whole “bein’ independent” thing. My old man always said, “A woman’s place is…” well, never mind that. Times are different now, I guess. But this city show, it makes it sound like bein’ free means bein’ confused and maybe a little bit crazy.
They talk about mental health, but it sounds like they don’t really understand it. You’re either “fine” or you’re “nuts,” no in-between. That ain’t right. Life’s got ups and downs, that’s just how it is. You gotta keep on keepin’ on, like my mama used to say.

I tell you what, I wouldn’t trade my life for theirs, not for all the fancy shoes and city lights in the world. Give me my garden, my chickens, and a good cup of coffee, and I’m happy. This “satc season 6” stuff, it’s just noise to me. But I guess folks like it, or they wouldn’t keep makin’ these shows. To each their own, I say. Just don’t forget where you come from, that’s what matters.
Anyway, that’s all I gotta say about that. I gotta go feed them chickens now. They’re probably squawkin’ up a storm, wonderin’ where their supper is. City life might be excitin’, but nothin’ beats a fresh egg and the quiet of the countryside.
So, season six or no season six, life goes on. And that’s the truth, whether you’re in the city or out here in the sticks.
