Hey there, you young folks! Let me tell ya somethin’ ’bout this… uh… monster high jewelry stuff. My grandkid, she’s all about it. Always yappin’ about these “ghoulish” this and “fangtastic” that. Honestly, I don’t get it, but she seems to like it, so here I am, talkin’ ’bout it.

So, what is this monster high jewelry, anyways? Well, from what I gather, it’s all them necklaces and bracelets and rings, but they got, like, skulls and bats and spiderwebs on ’em. Not my cup of tea, mind you, but the kids, they seem to think it’s the bee’s knees.
Now, necklaces, them’s been around forever. My grandma, she had a necklace, a simple thing, but she wore it every day. Said it made her feel like a star. And I guess that’s what these monster high necklaces do for the youngsters today. They wanna shine like a star, but with a spooky twist, you know?
- Necklaces: They got all kinds, long ones, short ones, ones with charms hangin’ off ’em. My grandkid’s got one with a little skull on it. Creepy, I tell ya, but she loves it. Says it makes her feel “fangtastic.” Kids these days!
- Bracelets: These are like the necklaces, but for your wrists, see? They got charms too, little bats and spiderwebs and whatnot. I seen some with sparkly bits on ’em, too. Guess even monsters like a little bling.
- Rings: Now, these are for your fingers. They got skulls, of course, but also these… whatchamacallits… “coffin” rings, she calls ’em. Little box-shaped things. Morbid, if you ask me, but hey, I ain’t the one wearin’ ’em.
They even got earrings, little dangly things that hang from your ears. I swear, sometimes my grandkid looks like a walking Halloween decoration. But she’s happy, and that’s what matters, I guess. She says they help her “rep” her love for Monster High. Whatever that means.
And where do you get this monster high jewelry? Well, seems like they got it everywhere these days. Stores, online, you name it. My grandkid, she’s always showin’ me new pieces she found. Says some of them are “meticulously crafted” with “diamond-studded star motifs”. Sounds fancy, don’t it? But mostly, it’s just plastic and metal, far as I can tell.
Some of this jewelry is even supposed to make you shine like a star, you know, with all them sparkly bits and shiny stones. My grandkid got a diamond pendant with chain that she adores, she says it makes her feel like she can touch the sky. Well, I hope she don’t try, ’cause that’d be a long fall. But I get it, she wants to feel special, and if a little monster high jewelry helps her do that, then more power to her. They got all sorts of options, my granddaughter says “the sky’s the limit”. It truly is “heaven to choose the perfect piece” according to her. Makes me chuckle seeing her so excited.

They even have stuff with moons and stars on it, can you believe it? Not just monsters, but the whole night sky. It’s like they’re trying to mix spooky with pretty. And you know what? Sometimes it works. I seen some pieces that are actually kinda… well, not ugly. For monster stuff, that is.
So, there you have it. My take on this monster high jewelry craze. It’s not for me, but the kids love it. And I guess that’s all that matters. They wanna shine like a star, even if it’s a spooky, ghoulish star. And who am I to tell ’em they can’t?
It’s funny how things change. When I was young, we didn’t have all this fancy monster stuff. We had simple things, made with our own hands. But times change, and kids today, they got their own ways. And if that way involves a little bit of monster high jewelry, well, so be it. As long as they’re happy and not causin’ trouble, that’s good enough for me.
One thing is for sure though, kids have always loved shiny things and they always will.
