Okay, so I’ve just come back from a trip to Iceland, and let me tell you, the Sky Lagoon was a real highlight. I’d seen some photos online, but nothing really prepares you for the actual experience.

Getting there was pretty straightforward. It’s super close to Reykjavik, located at this place called Krsnes Harbour. I hopped in a car, punched the address into the GPS, and boom, I was there in no time.

The first thing that grabbed my attention was the view. I mean, wow! It’s this massive geothermal lagoon right by the ocean. The water’s all steamy and milky blue, and it contrasts beautifully with the dark, rugged lava rocks around it.

I paid for the entry, and the changing rooms were nice and clean. I’d opted for the basic package, but there were fancier options with private changing rooms and some special body lotion. There were also packages for two with food and drinks, but I just wanted to get in the water.

As soon as I stepped into the lagoon, I felt all the stress just melt away. The water was the perfect temperature, not too hot, not too cold. I found a nice spot near the edge and just soaked it all in, literally.

This lagoon has this cool infinity edge, like it stretches out forever into the ocean. I spent ages just floating there, staring out at the sea, and watching the clouds drift by. They say the sunsets are incredible, but I was there in the afternoon. Next time, I’m definitely booking an evening slot.

I snapped tons of photos while I was there, trying to capture the magic of the place. The landscape is just so unique, with the textures and colors of the Icelandic nature all around. There were these benches built into the lava rocks, perfect for just sitting and contemplating life.

  • Walked around the surrounding area.
  • Tried to get a good shot of the infinity edge.
  • Looked for interesting textures in the lava rocks.
  • Captured some of the steam rising from the water.

I even saw some people with this mud mask thing going on, and I think there was sparkling wine involved if you’re into that. But for me, just being in the water, surrounded by that view, was pure bliss.

Honestly, if you’re planning a trip to Iceland, you gotta put Sky Lagoon on your list. It’s more than just a pretty place to take photos, although it’s definitely that too. It’s an experience that really connects you with the nature of Iceland. I can’t wait to go back!
