So, I’ve been diving into this whole Estee Lauder succession thing lately. It’s like a soap opera over there!

First off, I started digging around to see who’s who in the zoo. You’ve got Fabrizio Freda, the current CEO, who’s been running the show since 2009. Guy’s been around forever and now he’s finally decided to call it quits. Good for him, I guess, it must be tiring.
Then, I found out they’re bringing in this Stéphane de La Faverie guy to take over. Apparently, he’s been with the company for a while, climbing the corporate ladder. He started as a nobody, I guess, and now he’s going to be the big boss starting January 1, 2025. Seems like a pretty big jump if you ask me.
But here’s where it gets juicy. I read that there’s some drama with the Lauder family. You’ve got Leonard Lauder, the old man who’s basically the king of the castle. He and his brother Ronald inherited the whole shebang from their parents. Now, Leonard is already 91 years old, and Ronald is 80. Time waits for no one. They are not young anymore. They’ve got to figure out what’s next.
And the company’s shares? Don’t even get me started. They’ve been tanking, down more than 50% this year. Ouch! That’s gotta hurt. So the family’s probably scrambling to save their empire.
I also tried to figure out what this de La Faverie guy’s plan is. Looks like he’s been the Executive Group President, whatever that means. Now he has to find someone to fill his old shoes, which I bet is a pretty sweet gig.

It’s all a bit of a mess, to be honest. Lots of moving parts, lots of big names, and a whole lot of money at stake.
So, I’ve been keeping an eye on the news, trying to piece it all together. It’s like watching a real-life business drama unfold. And you know what? It’s pretty fascinating stuff. I’ll keep you guys posted if I find out anything new. It’s like a never-ending story, and I’m here for it!
- Fabrizio Freda: Outgoing CEO
