Man, the ’80s, right? That decade was just something else. Big hair, neon everywhere, and toys that were way more than meets the eye. Speaking of which, I recently dove back into my love for Transformers, and let me tell you, it’s been a trip.
So, I started digging around for some classic Transformers stuff, you know, just to feel that ’80s vibe again. That’s when I stumbled upon something I’d totally forgotten about – the Transformers LCD wristwatch by Takara. This thing was the coolest back in the day. I mean, a watch that’s also a robot? Come on!
I found out they’re re-releasing it, and I just had to get my hands on one. While I was waiting for it to arrive, I got all nostalgic and started watching some of the old cartoons. Optimus Prime, Megatron, Starscream – all the big names. And then there’s Wheeljack, one of my favorites, with those light-up cheeks when he talks. So unique!
Then it hit me: why not try to find out more about these watches? I went down a rabbit hole of ’80s gadgets, and wow, did that bring back memories. Portable computers, math-capable wristwatches, all that stuff was peak innovation back then. It felt like living in the future.

- Then, I ordered one of those re-released Takara Transformer watches. I’m still waiting for it, but I’m super excited.
- I also made a list of other cool ’80s gadgets. It’s amazing how much tech we had back then.
