Okay, here is my post about how I turned my wristwatch into a pocket watch:

So, I had this old wristwatch lying around. It was a nice watch, but I just didn’t wear it much anymore. I’ve always liked the look of pocket watches, though, so I thought, “Why not try to turn this wristwatch into a pocket watch?”
First, I took off the wristband. This was pretty easy – just had to remove the spring pins with a small tool. Then, I looked at the watch case. It had these little things called lugs, where the wristband used to attach. To make it look more like a pocket watch, I figured I needed to get rid of those.
I grabbed my angle grinder – yeah, it sounds a bit extreme, but it’s what I had on hand. I carefully ground down the lugs until they were gone. It took a bit of time, but I went slow and made sure not to damage the rest of the watch case. I used some sandpaper to smooth out the rough edges where the lugs used to be.
- Remove the wristband.
- Grind off the lugs with an angle grinder.
- Smooth out the edges with sandpaper.
- Attach the pocket watch chain to the top spring pin.
Next, I needed a chain. I found a simple one online that I liked. I hooked one end of the chain around the top spring pin, where the wristband used to be. And that was basically it! My wristwatch was now a pocket watch.
It’s not perfect, of course. It’s still a digital watch, and most pocket watches are the old-fashioned kind with hands. But I’m happy with how it turned out. It’s unique, and it’s a fun way to carry around a watch I wasn’t using anymore.

Final Look
Now, I just slip the watch into my pocket, and I can pull it out whenever I need to check the time. It’s got that cool, vintage vibe, even though it’s not a real antique. And hey, it’s a conversation starter, too! People always ask me about it when they see me using it.
So, that’s my little DIY project. If you’ve got an old wristwatch you’re not wearing, maybe you can try this, too. It’s a fun and easy way to give an old watch a new life.
