Okay, so I’ve been eyeing those Unimatic watches for a while now. I finally pulled the trigger and got myself a UT1, and let me tell you, it’s been quite a ride.

First off, I did a little digging, trying to figure out what this brand was all about. Turns out, Unimatic is this Italian brand, started by a couple of guys named Simone and Giovanni. They wanted to make these cool, minimalist watches, and man, they nailed it.
When I first opened the box, I was like, “Whoa.” This thing is solid. It’s got this clean, no-nonsense look that I really dig. It’s not flashy, but it’s definitely got that “I’m a serious watch” vibe. It is a tool watch, you know.
I started wearing it every day, to work, running errands, just living my life. One of the first things I noticed was how comfortable it is. It’s not too heavy, but it’s got enough weight that you know it’s there. And the strap, it’s this tough nylon thing, it just molds to your wrist. I saw that some people compare the UT1-GMT and UT4-GMT. Well, UT4-GMT is 1.5mm smaller. I think I like the size of UT1 better.
I did a lot of things with this watch. I took it to swim, I wore it while hiking. One time, I even accidentally banged it against a door frame. I thought for sure I’d scratched it, but nope, this thing is tough. You can really see the good design and iconic elements on this watch.
I’ve also been checking out what other people are saying about Unimatic. Seems like they’re known for making watches that are way more expensive than they cost. Like, you’re getting a 2000-dollar watch for, like, a quarter of the price. This is awesome.

Someone called it a “microbrand”, and they said those microbrand watches have remarkable value. I did not know what that “microbrand” meant before.
So yeah, that’s my Unimatic UT1 story so far. It’s been a few months, and this watch has become my go-to. It’s simple, it’s tough, and it looks damn good. Plus, knowing that it’s made in Italy by these two guys with a passion for watches, that just makes it even cooler.
Here are some features I really like about this watch:
- It’s super durable – I’ve put it through a lot, and it still looks brand new.
- It’s really comfortable to wear – even for long periods of time.
- It’s got a clean, minimalist design – which is exactly what I was looking for.
- It’s a great value for the price – you’re getting a high-quality watch without breaking the bank.
If you’re looking for a watch that can handle anything you throw at it, and still look good doing it, I’d definitely recommend checking out the Unimatic UT1. You won’t regret it.
