Okay, so, I’ve been seeing ads for this brand, Snif, all over my social media lately, and they have this new perfume called Vanilla Vice. The description was something about it smelling like vanilla soft serve, and honestly, that sounded amazing. So, I decided to give it a try.

I went ahead and ordered a bottle. When the package arrived, I eagerly tore it open. The bottle itself was pretty simple but nice-looking. I sprayed a bit on my wrist and took a whiff.
First impressions? It definitely had a vanilla scent, but not exactly the creamy, sweet vanilla ice cream I was hoping for. It’s a bit more, I don’t know, spicy? I could smell some other notes in there too, not just vanilla. Maybe a hint of something woody, or amber? It’s hard to put my finger on it.
After wearing it for a few hours, the scent started to change a little. The spiciness mellowed out a bit, and the vanilla became more prominent. But it still wasn’t quite the gourmand, dessert-like fragrance I had imagined.
I decided to do some digging online to see what other people were saying about it. Turns out, Vanilla Vice has notes of ice cream, Madagascar vanilla, amberwood, musk, Orcanox, and sparkling sugar. I guess the amberwood and musk are what’s giving it that spicier, less sweet vibe. Some people online were saying it has a bit of a synthetic smell, and I can kind of see what they mean.
I also found out that this fragrance was created by some perfumer named Patricia Choux. Apparently, Snif is a relatively new brand, and they’ve got a bunch of other perfumes too. They’re supposed to be genderless, which is cool.

Overall, I’m a little on the fence about Vanilla Vice. It’s not bad, but it’s not exactly what I expected either. It’s more of a complex, slightly spicy vanilla than a straight-up sweet one.
My Experience Breakdown
- Ordered the perfume online after seeing ads.
- Received the package and sprayed it on my wrist.
- Initially smelled a spicy vanilla, not as sweet as expected.
- Noticed the scent changing slightly after a few hours.
- Researched the fragrance notes and brand online.
- Concluded that it’s a more complex vanilla than a sweet one.
I might keep wearing it for a few more days to see if it grows on me. But for now, it’s not quite a love at first sniff situation. Oh well, you win some, you lose some, right?
