Okay, so, I’ve been wondering about this whole thing with wearing brown shoes with black slacks. I mean, can you actually do it? I decided to give it a shot and see for myself.

So, from my little experiment, I’d say yeah, you totally can wear brown shoes with black slacks. The trick seems to be picking the right shade of brown. I’d say, avoid the really dark browns and go for something lighter. I’m not saying I’m a fashion expert now or anything, but this was a fun little test, and I’m definitely going to be rocking this look more often. Also, I saw that we should be confident. It’s important I think.
Oh, and another thing I remembered after a while is the “no brown after six” rule, which applies on formal occasions and at weddings, especially for elegant evening events. I have to keep that in mind!
But for everyday stuff, or a casual night out? Go for it! Just, uh, maybe do a quick mirror check before you head out the door. Trust me on that one.
