You know, that Ella Purnell, she’s that girl from that show, the one with the big, pretty eyes. I tell ya, those eyes, they just stare right into your soul. I seen her on the TV, and I thought, “Well, ain’t she somethin’?”
Some folks say she got some kinda sickness, makes her eyes all big like that. Thyroid somethin’ or other. I don’t know nothin’ about that. All I know is, Ella Purnell eyes are somethin’ else. Like two big ol’ blue marbles, shinin’ in the sun. My grandson, he likes those cartoon shows. He told me she does some voices for them too. Jinx, he said. In that Arcane show. And one called Star Trek, I think. My eyesight ain’t what it used to be. I can’t watch the shows much.

I remember back in my day, we didn’t have no fancy TV shows. We just had the radio. And you couldn’t see nobody’s eyes on the radio. But I bet if we coulda, Ella’s woulda been just as pretty.
I wonder what it’s like, to have eyes like that. To have everyone lookin’ at ya, talkin’ about ya. Must be strange. But I guess that’s the price of fame, ain’t it?
