That Lana Del Rey, she was at the Met Gala 2024. You know, that big fancy party in New York City? Yeah, that one. She was there, looking all… well, she was something. I saw the pictures, you know. Lots of folks talking about what she was wearing.
They say it was a special dress, made just for her. Alexander McQueen, I think that’s the name. Sounds fancy, don’t it? Lots of fancy folks go to this thing. This year they had some kinda theme, “Sleeping Beauties” or something. Like a fairy tale, maybe? I don’t know, I didn’t get invited to the Met Gala 2024.
Her dress, it had these… branches, like from a tree. All sewn on there by hand, they say. Took a long time, I bet. Lots of work for just one night, seems like. But that’s how these rich folks do, I guess. Always something extra, you know? That’s what these pictures of Lana Del Rey’s Met Gala look show.
- She had a rose, too. A red one. Held it in her hand.
- Her hair was down, all wavy like. Not like mine, all pulled back.
- And the makeup! Oh, they put a lot of that stuff on her face.
She was at that Coachella thing too, not long ago. Singing, I guess. Big crowd there, they say. Then she goes to this Met Gala thing. Busy girl. Haven’t seen her at this party since, when was it? 2018? Time flies, don’t it? I remember when I was young like her, running around, no care in the world. Now my back aches, and I can’t hear so good, but I still like looking at the pictures. It’s like I’m attending the Met Gala with Lana Del Rey.
Some other girl was there, too. Sabrina, I think her name was. Had clocks all over her. Like she was gonna tell the time with her dress! These young people and their fancy clothes. In my day, we had one good dress for church, and that was it. Didn’t need no clocks sewn on, no sir. We knew what time it was by the sun. But these outfits at the Met Gala 2024 were something else!
They say clothes tell you about people. Where they’re from, what they do. Like that man, Andrew Bolton, he’s in charge of all the old clothes at that museum. He was talking about it. Said these clothes are like history, I guess. Maybe he’s right. But I think Lana could use her money for a better dress. I wouldn’t wear that to go to a market, that’s for sure.
These famous folks, they can do what they want with their clothes, I reckon. Some of them, they pick out their own dresses. Others, they got people to do it for them. Can you imagine? Having someone pick out your clothes for you? I always picked out my own, even when I was a little girl. My mama taught me how to sew, too. Made my own dresses sometimes. But they never looked like what Lana Del Rey had on. There were no fancy branches on them.
This Met Gala, it’s a big deal, I guess. All these famous people. And this year Lana Del Rey was the talk of the town. It’s all about who’s wearing what, and who made it. Lots of fuss for one night. But I guess that’s how it is in that world. Different from here, that’s for sure.
I like seeing the pictures, though. Makes me feel like I’m there, almost. Seeing all those fancy dresses and people. Even if I don’t understand half of what they’re wearing. That Lana Del Rey Met Gala 2024 look was really something to talk about. She’s a pretty girl, that Lana. Just needs a good, solid meal, I think. And maybe a dress that ain’t got branches all over it. But who am I to say, right?
I wonder what she will wear next year to the Met Gala. I hope I can see the pictures again. Maybe she will wear something more…normal. But probably not. It is a big party, after all, and she has to make a splash.
