Alright, let’s talk about this here Hermès Eau d’Orange Verte stuff. Don’t go getting all fancy on me now, it’s just a smell-good, you know?

Hermès Eau dOrange Verte Review: Is It Worth the Hype?

First off, they say it’s a “cologne.” Sounds all highfalutin, but to me, it’s just somethin’ ya splash on after a bath. Makes ya smell…well, not like you been workin’ in the fields all day, that’s for sure. They been makin’ it since way back in 1979, though they called it somethin’ else back then. Fancy folks changed the name later, I reckon.

Now, this smell, it ain’t like them heavy perfumes them city gals wear. This one’s got orange in it, you can tell right off the bat. But it ain’t just plain ol’ oranges, it’s…green oranges, they say. Whatever that means. It smells kinda fresh, like when you cut into a ripe orange on a hot day, but with a bit of…I dunno…leafy stuff in there too. Makes you feel kinda clean and peppy, you know?

  • Smells fresh and clean
  • Not too strong, good for everyday
  • Got that orange smell, but not too sweet

They got different kinds of this here Eau d’Orange Verte, too. Some stronger than others. There’s the one they call “Parfum,” that’s the strongest. You just use a dab of that, they say, and it sticks around longer. Good for when you wanna smell nice all day long, like for a weddin’ or a funeral…though why you’d wanna smell good at a funeral, I ain’t figured out yet.

Then there’s the regular stuff, the “Eau de Toilette,” I think they call it. That’s what I use mostly. Splash a little on after my bath and I’m good to go. It don’t last all day, but that’s alright. I ain’t tryin’ to knock nobody out with my smell.

And then there’s somethin’ called “Concentre d’orange verte.” This one, I hear, is even more…green, I guess. More of that leafy smell, maybe. I ain’t tried it myself, but folks seem to like it. They say it’s real strong, though, so you gotta be careful not to put on too much. You don’t wanna smell like you fell into a pile of oranges, now do ya?

Now, some folks say this here Hermès stuff is expensive. Well, I guess it is, compared to that cheap stuff they sell at the dollar store. But I figure, it’s worth it. A little bottle lasts me a good long while, and it makes me feel…well, it makes me feel like I ain’t just some old woman, you know? It makes me feel a little bit fancy, even if I’m just sittin’ on the porch, sippin’ iced tea.

And that’s the thing about this here Eau d’Orange Verte, it’s good for pretty much anything. You can wear it to church, you can wear it to the grocery store, you can even wear it when you’re just sittin’ around the house. It ain’t gonna make you smell like you’re tryin’ too hard, it just makes you smell…nice. And that’s good enough for me.

So, what’s the bottom line? It smells good, it makes you feel good, and it lasts pretty good too. Ain’t much more you can ask for from a smell-good, is there? If you got the money and you wanna treat yourself, go ahead and get yourself a bottle. You won’t regret it. And if you do… well, don’t come cryin’ to me. I told you it was good!

This here smell-good, it ain’t just for the young’uns neither. Us older folks, we like to smell nice too. And this here Hermès stuff, it’s just the ticket. It ain’t too strong, it ain’t too sweet, it’s just…right. Like a good cup of coffee on a cold mornin’, or a warm breeze on a summer day.

Anyway, that’s all I gotta say about this Hermès Eau d’Orange Verte. It’s a good smell-good, plain and simple. Now, go on and get yourself a bottle and see for yourself.
