Okay, so I’ve been experimenting with fashion tape to keep my strapless dresses in place, and let me tell you, it’s been a bit of a journey. I mean, who hasn’t had that fear of a wardrobe malfunction in a strapless dress, right?
So, I got this double-sided fashion tape. First thing I did was grab a pair of scissors and cut the tape. I tried different lengths to see what works best – sometimes shorter pieces, sometimes longer ones, depending on the dress.
Then came the tricky part. I started by placing one piece of tape on the side of one breast, kind of like, starting from underneath my armpit area. I made sure one end was secure there. Now, here’s where you gotta be a bit flexible. I pulled the other end of the tape across my torso, towards the bottom of my opposite rib. Sometimes it landed near my hip, sometimes a bit higher. You gotta play around with it to see what feels right and holds the dress up.

For extra security, especially with those dresses that have built-in bra straps, I stuck the double-sided tape to the underside of the strap. After that, I carefully attached the other side of the tape to my skin. It’s like creating a little support system right there.
I also experimented with sticking the tape directly onto the inside of the dress. It works, but you gotta be careful with the fabric. Some delicate materials might not agree with the tape, so always test a small, hidden area first.
My Results
Honestly, it took a few tries to get it right. There were times when the tape didn’t hold as well as I wanted, or it was visible, which is a big no-no. But after a few attempts, I started getting the hang of it. The key is to use enough tape to feel secure but not so much that it’s uncomfortable or shows through the dress.
Now, I can wear my strapless dresses with a lot more confidence. No more tugging and adjusting every few minutes. It’s been a bit of a learning curve, but totally worth it.
