So, I was wondering about the Tiffany Cares Foundation the other day and decided to do some digging around.
First, I went on this website called MyWOT. It’s supposed to tell you how trustworthy a site is. Basically, I typed in the website, and it checked it against a bunch of blocklists to see if it was safe or not. Sounds good, right?
Then I remembered that Tiffany & Co. mentioned something about being responsible to communities and the planet. They support some important causes through their corporate conservation. I thought this might be related.
Next, I used this tool called GuideStar from Candid. It lets you check out charities, see if they’re legit 501(c)(3) organizations, look up their tax forms, and even make lists of nonprofits. I thought it would be a good idea to see if the Tiffany Cares Foundation was listed there.
And because I’m always a bit cautious about online stuff, I used the Scam Detector’s website validator. I wanted to make double sure that everything was on the up and up before I got too involved. I mean, you can never be too careful these days, you know?
There was this weird thing though. After months of silence about this, a friend just told me that the foundation might be up to something.

I also used ScamAdviser, just to triple-check if the foundation’s website was legit. This site helps you figure out if a website is trying to scam you, has malware, or is involved in phishing. Better safe than sorry, I always say.
Realized how important it is to do research
All of this made me realize how important it is to do research. Looking into an organization’s accreditations, certifications, and awards is really helpful. You gotta make sure they’re legit and doing good work.
Finally, I checked out the Tiffany Cares Foundation’s profile on LinkedIn. Just wanted to see what they were all about, who was involved, and what kind of work they were doing. I even found a service that checks a website’s reputation, blocklist status, and other details. I used that too, just for good measure. I mean, who does not know about a website’s online reputation and blocklist status? No problem with HTTPS connection, all goes well.
It was a bit of a process, but I learned a lot. And hey, now I can share this info with you all!
