Okay, so I’ve been messing around with makeup a bit more lately, and I’ve really been wondering about primer and moisturizer. Like, which one goes on first? It’s kind of confusing, right?

Moisturizer or Primer First? Simple Guide to Get a Flawless Look

My Little Experiment

So, I decided to just try it out both ways and see what happened. Here’s how it went down:

Day 1: Moisturizer First

  • First, I washed my face with my usual cleanser and patted it dry.
  • Then, I put on my regular moisturizer, you know, the one I always use. I gave it a few minutes to sink in, like you’re supposed to.
  • After that, I applied my primer. It’s supposed to make your makeup go on smoother, and supposedly, it helps to make it last longer.
  • Finally, I put on my foundation and the rest of my makeup.

The Result: Honestly, my makeup looked pretty good! My skin felt hydrated, and my foundation went on really smoothly. No complaints there!

Day 2: Primer First

  • Okay, so this time, I washed my face just like before.
  • But then, I put on the primer directly onto my bare skin.
  • Next, I put on my moisturizer over the primer. It felt a little weird, but okay.
  • Then, I did my usual makeup routine.

The Result: This was a bit of a fail. My skin felt kind of dry, and my foundation didn’t blend as well. It looked a little patchy, to be honest.

What I Learned

So, after my little experiment, I realized that maybe there was a reason. And I found that moisturizer should always be applied before primer. It is important to put moisturizer first. After doing both, it’s pretty clear that putting moisturizer on before primer is the way to go. It just makes sense to hydrate your skin first before you start layering on other stuff. My skin felt so much better when I did it that way, and my makeup looked way better too.

So, yeah, lesson learned! Moisturizer first, then primer. Always! Hope this helps someone else out there who was as confused as I was!
