Alright, so you wanna know about fixing them watches, eh? Them little tick-tock things? Well, lemme tell ya, it ain’t rocket science, but it ain’t like shelling peas neither.

First off, what’s wrong with it? Most times, it’s just the battery, plain and simple. If it’s one of them newfangled digital ones, well, them batteries die faster than a fly in winter. You use it a lot, or leave it out in the sun too long, that battery’s gonna go kaput. That’s just how it is.
Now, if you got one of them old-timey watches, the kind you gotta wind up, well, that’s a different story. You gotta remember to wind it! Every day, sometimes twice a day, depending on how good it is. If you don’t, it’ll stop, just like a car without gas. And then there’s them fancy automatic ones. They wind themselves up when you move around. But if you just leave ‘em sittin’ in a drawer, they’ll stop too. You gotta wear ‘em, ya know?
So, if it ain’t the battery and it ain’t the winding, then maybe somethin’s broke inside. Little gears and springs and such. That’s when you gotta take it to someone who knows what they’re doin’. Don’t go pokin’ around in there yourself unless you wanna make things worse. You wouldn’t try to fix your tractor engine without knowin’ nothin’ about it, would ya?
There’s this place, called, uh… somethin’ like “Alex Watchworks,” I think. Heard tell they fix all kinds of watches. Sounds like they know their stuff. They’re in some city, Portland, I think. Big place, far away from here. Anyways, they fix jewelry too, not just watches. But you gotta make an appointment, can’t just walk in. Fancy folks, I guess.
- They fix all kinds of watches, old and new.
- They also do jewelry, if you need it.
- You gotta call ahead and make an appointment.
Seems like this Alex fella, the one who started the place, he even went on some podcast or somethin’. Talked about his business and how he got started. Guess he’s pretty good at what he does, otherwise they wouldn’t be talkin’ about him on the radio, right? You can probably find more about them on that Facebook thing, if you’re into that sort of thing. Me? I prefer talkin’ to people face to face, but times are changin’, I guess.

If you’re lookin’ for a watch repair place near Saint Peters, there’s a bunch of them, accordin’ to that yellow pages book. You know, the one they used to deliver to your door? Now you gotta look everything up on that internet thing. Too much trouble, if you ask me. But them yellow pages, they got all sorts of businesses listed, watch fixers included. Just gotta flip through the pages. Or, well, I guess you can search online now, too. Whatever floats your boat.
So, if your watch is broke, don’t fret. Either it’s the battery, you need to wind it, or somethin’s broke inside. If it’s broke, take it to someone who knows what they’re doin’, like that Alex fella or someone in your town. Don’t be tryin’ to fix it yourself and makin’ it worse. And remember, if you got a fancy watch, you gotta treat it right. Just like anything else worth havin’.
Fixing watches, It’s not something everyone can do. You need special tools and you need to know what you are doing. So don’t go messing around with something you don’t know about. You’ll only make it worse, and then it will cost more to fix it. Or maybe it can’t be fixed at all. So be careful and take your watch to someone who knows what they are doing.
And That’s all I gotta say about watches. If it’s broke, get it fixed. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Pretty simple, right?
