Alright, alright, let’s talk about this… uh… Nicky… Nicky Minage, yeah, that’s her name. Seen her picture somewhere, all dolled up, you know? Folks sayin’ she’s a big deal, on some magazine cover, somethin’ called “Vogue”. Fancy name, ain’t it? Sounds like somethin’ them city folks read.
So, this Vogue thing, it’s a big deal, I guess. Never read it myself, too busy with my chickens and garden, but seems like everybody’s yappin’ ’bout it. This Nicky girl, she’s been on other Vogues too, they say. Arab one, and some Japanese one. Don’t know what them places are like, but I reckon they’re far away, got different folks and different ways of doin’ things. But this time, it’s the American one, the one here in our country. Took ’em long enough, huh? She’s been around a while, this Nicky.
They say she went to some fancy school, learnin’ drama and whatnot. Laguardia, they call it. Don’t know what kinda school that is, probably teaches them how to act all fancy-like and put on airs. But I guess it worked for her, look at her now, on the cover of that magazine. Good for her, I say. Always good to see someone make somethin’ of themselves, even if they do go about it in a way I don’t understand.
Now, they got this thing, called “73 Questions.” Sounds like a lot of questions to me. I get tired just answerin’ my neighbor about the weather! But this Nicky, she answered ’em all, they say. Showed folks her recordin’ studio, in a place called Malibu. Malibu, huh? Sounds expensive. Bet there ain’t no chickens or gardens there. Just fancy houses and cars, I reckon.
This Vogue cover, it ain’t just about lookin’ pretty, though. They got this event, called “#ForcesofFashion”, and Nicky was there, talkin’ about stuff. Talkin’ about bein’ a mama, and clothes, and how she broke some records with her… well, I don’t rightly know what she broke records with. Music, I guess? Kids these days and their music, can’t make heads nor tails of it half the time. But she’s good at it, seems like, and folks like it, so good on her.
This whole Vogue thing, it’s kinda like a big to-do, a celebration of sorts. Celebratin’ Nicky and her clothes and her music and whatever else she does. And I guess that’s fine. Everybody needs a little celebratin’ now and then. Even if it’s just for lookin’ pretty on a magazine cover.
I still don’t quite get it all, mind you. All this fashion and music and Malibu stuff. But I reckon it’s important to some folks, and if Nicky’s happy, and folks are happy readin’ about her, then that’s all that matters. It’s a different world, the one them city folks live in. Full of fancy magazines and fancy people doin’ fancy things. Me? I’m happy with my chickens and my garden. But it’s good to know what’s goin’ on out there, even if it is a bit strange.
