Okay, let me tell you about this little project I got myself into the other day, something I like to call “Jason and Croc.” Now, I’ve always been fascinated by these old Greek myths and comic book stories, so I thought, why not mix them up a bit?

The Story of Jason and Croc: Learn All About Them Here!

First off, I dug up everything I could on Jason, you know, the guy from the Jason and the Argonauts story. This dude, Jason, was supposed to be king, but his uncle, Pelias, totally stole the throne. So, Pelias sends Jason on this crazy quest to find the Golden Fleece, promising him the kingship if he succeeds. Classic power move, right?

Then, I switched gears and started looking into Killer Croc, this character from the Batman comics. Waylon Jones, that’s Croc’s real name, was born with this condition that made him look like a reptile. His mom died when he was born, and his aunt was just awful to him. He eventually snapped, killed his aunt, and became a bad guy in Gotham City. Rough life, huh?

Combining the Two

So, here’s where it gets interesting. I started thinking, what if I mashed these two stories together? I spent hours brainstorming, scribbling down notes, and trying to find a connection between Jason’s myth and Croc’s backstory.

I remembered reading somewhere that Jason was seen as a hero, but also kind of an anti-hero, especially after his mom was murdered. It got me thinking about how both Jason and Croc had these tragic pasts that shaped who they became.

  • Both had family issues.
  • Both were wronged by someone close to them.
  • Both ended up on a path they probably didn’t plan on.

I decided to focus on these parallels. I started writing this story where Jason, after being betrayed by his uncle, encounters a character inspired by Killer Croc. This Croc-like character is also a victim of his circumstances, and he and Jason kind of team up, in a weird way.

It was a lot of fun, just letting my imagination run wild. I played around with different scenarios, wrote a bunch of drafts, and even drew some sketches of what this new character might look like. In the end, I had this cool little story that was part Greek myth, part comic book, and all kinds of awesome.

It is really a very interesting experience, right? I love doing this!
