Recently, I wanted to buy myself a new bracelet online, but I was a little worried about the size. I mean, you can’t exactly try it on before you buy, right? So, I decided to measure my wrist size at home to make sure I got the right fit. I figured I’d share my little experiment here.

First, I grabbed a flexible measuring tape. You know, the kind tailors use. If you don’t have one, no worries. You can use a piece of string or a strip of paper. I wrapped the tape around my wrist, just below the wrist bone, where I’d normally wear a bracelet. Make sure it’s not too tight or too loose. You want it snug, but still comfortable.
I noted the measurement on the tape. It read 6.5 inches. If you’re using a string or paper, mark where the end overlaps and then measure that length with a ruler. Now, this is just your wrist size. To get the right bracelet size, you need to add a little extra.
- For a snug fit, I added about 1/4 to 1/2 inch. So, that would be around 6.75 to 7 inches.
- For a comfort fit, which is what I usually prefer, I added about 3/4 to 1 inch. That made it 7.25 to 7.5 inches.
- And for a loose fit, you can add up to 1 1/4 inches. That would be around 7.75 inches.
I opted for the comfort fit, so I looked for bracelets around 7.25 to 7.5 inches. Most online stores have a size guide, so I checked that out too. Some bracelets are adjustable, which is great, but others come in fixed sizes.
And guess what? I ordered a bracelet, and it arrived a few days later. I tried it on, and it fit perfectly! Not too tight, not too loose. It was super comfy and looked great.
So, there you have it. Measuring your wrist for a bracelet is pretty easy, and it ensures you get the right fit. No more guessing games or dealing with returns. If you plan on buying some bracelets with links, you can remove them by hands or use wire cutters.

This is such a simple way. And I succeed in buying a great bracelet. It’s really a good idea to share with you guys!
